Malaysia – Langkawi Archipelago

Andaman sea kayak adventures

For this sea kayak trip, we propose an Asian jewel. An adventure trip accessible to all levels from beginner to expert.
Experience jungle landscapes on virgin islands throughout this incredible archipelago.

The island of Langkawi is located in the Andaman Sea on the west coast of Malaysia. The archipelago is made up of a hundred islands, of which only four are inhabited. We offer navigation to hidden places in this gem which is Kedah.

Pulau Langkawi is an exceptional geological site classified UNESCO as a “Geopark” and is one of the oldest submerged lands of South East Asia.

Certain rock formations date from over 550 million years and its pristine beaches are nestled under the cliffs, Langkawi will offer you unforgettable landscapes.

We offer a 15-day trip, including 8 sea kayaks in groups of up to 8 people.
You will sail in the middle of karst islands invaded by jungle, in the mangrove, cotoierez a fauna and a flora luxuriant typical of the tropical countries. Monkeys, but also dolphins, sea lions, without forgetting the typical fish eagles of the region … Swimming, fishing and coconut are also in the program of this stay.

The accommodation is in 3 * hotels, homestay (in fishing villages) and also bivouac on the beaches. You will also spend a night on a floating house in the heart of the mangrove.

For bivouacs, as we usually do in the tropics, we use hammocks with integrated mosquito nets. This allows us to sleep cool enjoying the night breezes while being out of contact with the ground. We stretch tarpaulins over the hammocks to be protected from the rain. But, if you prefer to sleep under tent, no problem, specify when booking

Although being a tourist place, our itinerary takes you to discover the treasures of this archipelago, far from holidaymakers who stay mainly in their hotel on the beach. Then to you the many deserted islands, to you the adventure of a sea kayak trip between jungle and sandy beaches. The tourist side of Langkawi has some advantages as it makes the destination “safe” and “easy”. “Sure” because Langkawi has a hospital of quality which makes this stay takes place under excellent sanitary conditions. The destination is very easy to access thanks to its airport very well served from Kuala Lumpur. Langkawi is the easiest destination we offer in Asia (compared to the Philippines or Papua). A perfect destination to learn about sea kayaking in the heart of tropical nature. Langkawi offers us a concentrate of Asia with its varied and unusual landscapes, but also on the gastronomic side.

There are no kayaks available on site at the moment in Langkawi. To allow you to fully enjoy your kayak trip, we use our own fleet for this trip.

The single seeker are Seekers from Trak Kayak and the two-seater from Nautiraid.

The paddles are from Werner Paddles with carbon shaft (ergo or straight)

These kayaks can be transported by plane, and we take them from France with us. This limits the weight of your personal belongings to about fifteen kilos and obliges us to fly with companies offering a great baggage allowance like “Etihad Airways” or any other arline offering a good baggage allowance. But no problem, in Langkawi it’s hot, so it’s easy to travel light…

Your guide will give you the technical equipment directly at the airport. In case you do not leave the same airport as the guide, we send you the kayak and the camping equipment in their transport bags (via UPS), so you can fly with, and find the rest from the group directly to Langkawi.
