There are several ways to begin planning your sea kayak trip. You may have found a scheduled departure that suits you, discovered an itinerary you would like to join at a different time, or imagined an adventure that does not yet exist in this form.
Voyage Kayak can help in all three situations. The aim is not to fit you into a standard package, but to find the project that matches your availability, your group, your experience and the way you want to travel.

Join a scheduled departure
Travelling solo, as a couple or with a few friends, and one of our existing dates works for you? See the trips that are genuinely scheduled and the groups currently open for booking.
Request a new date or a private departure
Would you like to take this trip at another time, whether you are travelling alone, as a pair or with a group? We compare your request with those of other interested paddlers. When a compatible group begins to form, we can consider opening a new departure. If you prefer to travel only with your own group, we can also consider a private version of the itinerary.
Create a tailor-made trip
Do you have a destination in mind, a point you found on our map or a different idea altogether? We can assess an itinerary based on your interests, preferred period, paddling level and budget.
Adding a new departure date or arranging a private version always requires a feasibility check. Season, sea conditions, regulations, participant numbers and the availability of local partners or support vessels must all be confirmed before we can make a proposal.
Small groups preserve personal guidance, group cohesion and the quality of the experience.

Different ways to experience the journey
Choosing a destination is only part of designing a trip. We also need to decide how to experience it. Depending on the region and the level of independence you are looking for, we may carry our camping equipment in the kayaks, paddle between small locally run lodgings or use a boat as a mobile base camp.
In the Mediterranean, a catamaran or sailing boat allows us to paddle during the day and reach a different anchorage each evening. In Indonesia or Oman, a traditional boat extends our range. In polar regions, the journey may be a self-supported camping expedition, with all our equipment carried in the kayaks, or operate from an expedition ship that gives access to certain isolated coastlines.
These formats can sometimes be combined. The right choice depends on the destination, season, access, local regulations, conditions, group and available budget.

A trip shaped with you, not designed from a desk
Travel period, duration, daily distances, technical level, group size, accommodation, equipment and guiding language can all be considered with you. Depending on the destination, the journey may also leave more room for snorkelling, walking, wildlife observation or encounters with local communities.
This does not mean that a maritime itinerary can be fixed rigidly in advance. Wind, sea state, weather, wildlife and local regulations continue to set the pace. The proposed route therefore remains indicative and may change to preserve the best balance of exploration, enjoyment and safety.
Some projects build on a trip that has already been scouted and tested. Others require a fresh feasibility study covering access, season, local partners, kayak transport, accommodation options, safety and budget. In every case, we check that the trip is viable before making a proposal.
Travelling solo, as a pair or with others? We can help complete the group
Is there a destination you would love to explore, but no departure currently matches your dates? Tell us about your project. We record expressions of interest by destination and may contact you when a compatible group begins to form.
You might, for example, be two paddlers while two other people have already registered their interest in the same destination and a similar period. We bring these requests together. When participant numbers, availability, paddling level and expectations allow us to create a coherent group, we assess whether a new departure can be opened and contact everyone concerned.

From your idea to departure
- You outline your project: destination, possible dates, number of participants, experience and any particular interests.
- We speak directly: Julien assesses feasibility and asks the questions needed to understand your group.
- Voyage Kayak prepares a proposal: travel format, indicative itinerary, expected level, organisation and budget.
- You receive the Road Book or a detailed proposal: it covers the itinerary, preparation, equipment and practical arrangements.
- Your booking is confirmed: once we have checked that the trip matches your paddling level, the contract and deposit secure your place.
Our sea kayaking self-assessment provides a useful first indication. It remains a guide only: the conversation beforehand allows us to make sure the trip genuinely matches your experience and expectations.
Route planning, equipment, transport and safety are all part of the project.
